Variable collection amount rules
The “Is Collection Amount Variable?” setting controls whether the amount collected from a customer’s account can change over time, instead of being fixed to a single value.
How It Works
When the setting is OFF:
The collection amount is fixed for the mandate.
Every payment will be processed for the same amount as specified in the mandate.
Any changes in the amount require the creation of a mandate amendment or new mandate.
When the setting is ON:
The system allows variable amounts to be submitted to the bank as long as it is within the rules of the mandate.
Amounts can be adjusted for each collection according to rules set in your payment method or through manual updates.
Works in conjunction with the periodic adjustment rules (Adjustment Category, Adjustment Type, Adjustment Rate/Amount).
Enabling variable amounts on a mandate does not make the payment non-disputable. Customers can still dispute a debit if the collected amount differs from what they expected or agreed to in the mandate. Always ensure the reason for the change is clearly communicated to the customer.
