7.6 Collections Deposit (EFT Debit Orders Only)

In accordance with Payments Association of South Africa (PASA) requirements, Kwik retains a deposit equal to 10% of the Merchant's monthly EFT Debit Order collection value, to mitigate the risk of disputes and unpaid transactions. This deposit is calculated and managed automatically by Kwik's systems and must be maintained for as long as the Merchant collects via EFT Debit Order.

Example: for monthly EFT Debit Order collections of R100,000, a retained deposit of R10,000 must be maintained.

This deposit requirement does not apply to collections made via DebiCheck or Registered Mandates.

This deposit is held and applied in accordance with Section 11 (Reserves, Retention and Recovery) of the Collections Services Policy.

7.7 Collections Payout Fee

ServiceFee
Standard batch payoutR25.00 per batch payout

The Merchant controls the frequency of its payouts. Transactions become available for payout once cleared. This fee applies in addition to, and is separate from, the payout fees set out in Section 3 (Payout Fees) above, which apply to the Merchant's general payment processing balance.

8. Taxes

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • all fees are exclusive of VAT;
  • VAT will be charged where required by the Value-Added Tax Act 89 of 1991 or other Applicable Law;
  • the Merchant remains responsible for all taxes relating to its business, including income tax, VAT and any other applicable levies.

9. Billing

Kwik may deduct applicable fees from:

  • transaction settlements;
  • Merchant balances;
  • payout proceeds; or
  • invoice the Merchant separately,

depending on the Services being used.

10. Pricing Changes

Kwik may update this Fees and Pricing document from time to time, including in response to changes in card scheme interchange rates, acquiring bank costs, or Kwik's own cost of providing the Services.

Except where a change is required immediately to comply with Applicable Law, a card scheme requirement, or an acquiring or sponsoring bank requirement, Kwik will provide the Merchant with at least twenty (20) Business Days' written notice before any increase in fees, or any new fee, takes effect. Notice will be given by email to the Merchant's registered contact address and/or by notification within the Merchant Dashboard.

Where a fee increase is not required by Applicable Law or a third party as described above, and the Merchant does not agree to the revised pricing, the Merchant may terminate the Merchant Agreement, without further liability for the increase, by giving written notice to Kwik before the revised pricing takes effect, subject to settlement of all amounts already owed to Kwik.

The latest version will always be published at: https://help.kwik.co.za/legal/fees-and-pricing

Continued use of the Services after the effective date of revised pricing constitutes acceptance of the updated fees.
