1. Purpose
This MoneyBadger Policy ("Policy") forms part of the Merchant Agreement.
This Policy governs the Merchant's acceptance of cryptocurrency payments processed through the Services using MoneyBadger.
MoneyBadger enables Customers to make payments using supported cryptocurrencies, which are converted and settled in accordance with the applicable operational rules.
This Policy should be read together with the following documents:
- Merchant Agreement
- Fees & Pricing
- Privacy Notice
- Data Processing Addendum
- Information Security Policy
- Security Requirements
- Acceptable Use Policy
- Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Policy, including Section 14 (Crypto Asset Payment Methods)

2. Scope
This Policy applies to all cryptocurrency payments processed through the Services using MoneyBadger.
MoneyBadger transactions are facilitated through an Underlying Payment Provider approved by Kwik.
3. Underlying Payment Provider
Cryptocurrency payments are currently facilitated through:
- MoneyBadger
By enabling or using MoneyBadger, the Merchant acknowledges that transactions are also subject to MoneyBadger's operational rules, technical requirements and legal documentation.
The Merchant agrees to comply with the applicable MoneyBadger legal documentation available at:
Kwik relies on MoneyBadger holding and maintaining any licence, authorisation, or registration required to lawfully provide crypto asset services in the Republic of South Africa, including, where applicable, licensing as a crypto asset service provider under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 2002, and on MoneyBadger's compliance with applicable FICA obligations relating to crypto asset transfers. Kwik does not independently verify or guarantee MoneyBadger's compliance with these requirements, and the Merchant should make its own enquiries if this is material to its decision to enable this payment method.
Kwik may add, remove or replace cryptocurrency payment providers without requiring an amendment to this Policy.
4. Nature of the Service
Kwik provides payment processing infrastructure only.
Kwik is not:
- a cryptocurrency exchange;
- a digital asset trading platform;
- a wallet provider;
- a custodian of digital assets;
- an investment adviser;
- a financial adviser; or
- a provider of cryptocurrency custody services.
The Merchant remains responsible for understanding the commercial and regulatory implications of accepting cryptocurrency payments, including whether accepting, holding, or converting cryptocurrency as part of its own business activities requires the Merchant to obtain its own licence, authorisation, or registration under Applicable Law.
5. Availability
Cryptocurrency payments are available only:
- where supported by Kwik;
- where supported by MoneyBadger;
- where the selected cryptocurrency is supported;
- where the blockchain network is operational; and
- where the transaction is successfully confirmed.
Kwik does not guarantee continuous availability.
6. Blockchain Confirmations
Payment completion depends upon successful confirmation by the applicable blockchain network.
Confirmation times vary depending upon:
- network congestion;
- blockchain rules;
- mining or validator activity;
- transaction fees;
- blockchain upgrades; and
- other operational conditions.
Kwik does not control blockchain confirmation times.
7. Exchange Rates
Cryptocurrency exchange rates may fluctuate rapidly.
The Merchant acknowledges that:
- exchange rates are determined by the applicable provider;
- rates may change before payment completion;
- quoted prices may expire;
- cryptocurrency values may increase or decrease significantly; and
- Kwik does not guarantee any exchange rate.
Any exchange rate risk remains the responsibility of the Merchant and the Customer.
8. Merchant Responsibilities
The Merchant shall:
- comply with Applicable Law;
- comply with the Merchant Agreement;
- comply with this Policy;
- fulfil customer orders promptly;
- provide accurate pricing information;
- maintain appropriate customer support processes; and
- comply with MoneyBadger's operational requirements.
The Merchant shall not:
- misrepresent cryptocurrency pricing;
- interfere with blockchain confirmations;
- request Customers to bypass supported payment flows;
- use unsupported wallets or payment mechanisms where prohibited; or
- use cryptocurrency payments for unlawful purposes.
9. Refunds
Refunds are governed by the Chargeback & Dispute Policy.
Where refunds are supported:
- refunds may be processed in fiat currency or cryptocurrency, depending on the operational rules of MoneyBadger;
- exchange rates applicable at the time of the refund may differ from the original transaction;
- blockchain network fees may apply; and
- Kwik does not guarantee that refunded cryptocurrency values will equal the original cryptocurrency amount or fiat value.
10. Disputes
Cryptocurrency payments generally do not support traditional Chargebacks.
Commercial disputes remain the responsibility of the Merchant.
Where disputes arise, Kwik may request supporting documentation in accordance with the Chargeback & Dispute Policy.
11. Third-Party Rules
Cryptocurrency payments are subject to:
- the Merchant Agreement;
- this Policy;
- MoneyBadger's operational requirements;
- Applicable Law; and
- any applicable blockchain network requirements.
Where MoneyBadger's operational requirements are more restrictive than this Policy, those requirements shall prevail to the extent necessary to process the transaction.
12. Suspension
Kwik may suspend cryptocurrency payments immediately where:
- required by MoneyBadger;
- required by Applicable Law;
- regulatory requirements change;
- fraud is suspected;
- suspicious activity is identified;
- sanctions obligations require suspension;
- continued processing presents an unacceptable financial, operational or regulatory risk; or
- the Merchant breaches this Policy or the Merchant Agreement.
13. Limitation of Liability
Without limiting the Merchant Agreement, Kwik shall not be liable for:
- blockchain congestion;
- blockchain forks;
- validator or miner delays;
- cryptocurrency price volatility;
- exchange rate fluctuations;
- wallet incompatibility;
- unsupported digital assets;
- network transaction fees;
- blockchain outages;
- delays caused by MoneyBadger; or
- transaction failures outside Kwik's reasonable control.
14. Changes
Kwik may amend this Policy from time to time to reflect:
- changes to supported cryptocurrencies;
- changes to MoneyBadger's operational requirements;
- regulatory developments;
- security enhancements;
- operational improvements;
- technological developments; or
- industry best practices.

Continued use of MoneyBadger after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy where permitted by Applicable Law.
